Food Passion is a eating out and food shopping guide for Swansea and the surrounding areas (Gower, Mumbles, Llanelli).
It exists in web and printed form, and I’ve recently finished the graphic design for 2009’s edition. Its the second time I’ve designed the printed guide, which usually takes the form of a 48 page booklet.

I recommend picking one up, they’re very useful and an interesting read, plus this year they have vouchers in the back which can be exchanged for discounts and free gifts at various restaurants around Swansea. Look out for them across the city.

This poster was designed for a friend as a birthday present. Its packed full of colourful illustrated characters and has a bright, fun personality.

These double sided business cards were designed for Ballyhoo Commerce, a design company based in Birmingham who specialise in web development and ecommerce.
The design was printed with a spot varnish (also known as spot uv printing or spot lamination). It adds an extra layer of shiny varnish to specified parts of the design, and is used here to highlight the logo and bubbles on the front.
If you want your business card to stand out, this is a good option.

I recently completed an internship programme at Swansea Print Workshop, a not for profit company in Swansea that is run by volunteers and a few members of staff. Professional artists, amateurs and school children are invited there for fine art printmaking courses (such as Collograph, Cyanotype and Linocut) and open access to the facilities.
My time there was spent learning about traditional printing techniques such as Photo Screenprint and arts administration training in Marketing, Publicity and Image Library Organisation.

These urban style illustrations were created for A Sitting Duck; an online shop that sells tshirts, prints and other design related paraphernalia. They were created to be a recognisable mascot that would appeal to the company’s audience and be suitable for printing on various materials.
The Swansea Local Health Board commissioned me to produce a graphic design for their Health and Well Being Strategy 2008 to 2011.

The 200 page A4 document covers issues that effect the health of the population in Swansea and was translated into English and Welsh. The content was provided to The Colour Mill and I was required to present the information in a more efficient, accessible and attractive manner. Look out for copies at local surgeries, opticians and hospitals etc.
This Roll Fold (also knowns as Barrel Fold or Tri-Fold) brochure was designed for a local manufacturer to be used as a datasheet for one of their products.
This printing method is great when you need to pack loads of info (6 pages worth) into a small space (folds down to A4)!
This leaflet was designed for the local health board in Swansea to promote National Healthy Living Week.

The leaflet needed to be bilingual, so Welsh and English content was supplied by the client and I designed a double-sided 1/3 A4 leaflet to accomodate all the information.

This 12 page user manual was designed and created for Swansea based fire alarm manufacturer GLT Exports Ltd. As well as general information about the product it contained two technical diagrams that were illustrated by The Colour Mill.

These days, you’re not a real business unless you’re talking about the credit crunch. So I dug up this design from The Colour Mill vaults.
It was created for Cardiff based financial advisor Neil Soundy Financial Services. The graphic design was based on the logo that I had created for the client a few months earlier.
